Repair priority at a glance.
Quick answer.
Repair the train before the game makes that decision for you. The worst-case outcome is letting a car hit critical condition and then being forced to solve it outside while cold and under pressure.

Each train car degrades while the run continues, and storms can damage the train further. Once a car condition becomes critical, there is a chance the train will stop and require repairs outdoors.
Preemptive repair checklist
- Repair weak cars before a warning if you can still keep enough ammo and warmth.
- Use shutters to reduce extra weather pressure during storms.
- Do not leave multiple medium problems unresolved and hope the next room pays you back.
Repair first or loot first?
If the repair prevents a forced stop, repair first. If the train is stable and the side room likely contains credits or recovery, a short loot detour can make sense. The key is being honest about how thin your margin already is.
